This prefixing of the mantra is properly described in the Taittiriya Aranyaka (2.11.1-8), which states that it should be chanted with the syllable oṃ, followed by the three Vyahrtis and the Gayatri verse. As far as I recall modern AWACS (E-3 and E-2) have multiple systems all working to get an ID on a plane. With full Data Link now implemented honestly there's no need for any of that and we have a fairly accurate system (although AWACS is still too damn good at ID'ing hostiles from far away) When ED released the NCTR function on the Hornet it finally was changed back to unknown until verified hostile (although for a little bit it was still magic IFF just NCTR for full ID). For a little while very early on we had anything that didn't declare friendly showing up as hostile (even other friendlies that just didn't have a functioning IFF beacon) That got fixed fairly quick (like 2 - 3 months) and then it was the magic method that somehow always knew if it was hostile or friendly when you were within say 80nm. But without an AWACS in range you would need yourself or another friendly Data Link capable aircraft to ID the target as hostile or it'll stay Unknown.īefore the ID was handled via magic because we didn't have NCTR functional. Strangely, my Silver Lake Vegan Tieks took a little longer to wear in, even though they are the same design. My Brentwood Tieks fit perfectly right away with no issues at all. I decided to go up a size for my second pair as vegan Tieks don’t have the same stretching effect. So, if your Tieks feel a little tight at first, don’t panic, they will stretch out. My first pair of leather Tieks was a bit tight for the first few days as the leather is designed to stretch and mould to fit your feet. That said, each pair has been different to break in. Tieks have never made my feet bleed or blister.
